Article marketing works, yes I know it works. I use articles as part of my tool kit. But what about when they don’t work?
Let me explain, you produce articles to get links and traffic. What if the article doesn’t get indexed by Google? Then you don’t really get as much value from the article ,the link in it, as you should be. Sure you will still get traffic and I have sites that earn money every month even though they are nowhere near the top 50 for their keywords.
But getting the maximum leverage you can from every article you have out there makes sense doesn’t it?
I had a reasonably in depth conversation with a mate of mine about this idea the other day, which I will try and paraphrase here.
Say you want to get your site 10 extra links isn’t it easier to find 10 articles you have out there which aren’t indexed and get them indexed rather than producing 10 new articles?
Sure if you only have one or two articles out there it’s not a problem but if you have various pen names on ezine articles with 50+ articles in each then it can become a bit more of a pain. Checking the articles for indexing is one of those jobs that you mean to do but you know it will take ages so you never get it done.
It is all about maximizing the value you get from the time you took to write the article or the money you spent for someone else to write it for you.
I felt that this was so important that I was going to get a tool made to go find the non indexed articles and someone beat me to it so rather than reinvent the wheel I thought I would let you know about his tool.
Until I know which ones are indexed there is nothing I can do about it, so step one is finding the unindexed pages!
I do not know the guy who made this tool, I actually spent my own money on this tool and I am using it to improve my business.I do feel it is good enough and important enough that I am promoting it to you. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t recommend things easily.
If you would rather go straight to the page then here is the link. Oh and yes that is an affiliate link! But you can watch a video of it in action here and I throw out a few idea on things to do to fix the problems with your articles.

Buy The Index Checker (yes this is an aff link)
I think I have covered everything in the video but as always please do feel free to post a comment. I hope you find this little tool as useful as I do and use it to help power up those links.
Building more links is great but make sure that they are getting noticed!

You may be thinking that because your site is new it doesn’t have any 404 errors or you may be thinking “What the heck is a 404?”
A 404 error is what happens when someone comes to a page that isn’t there, maybe you renamed the page, maybe you deleted it, maybe when you were building links to your site you made a spelling mistake and the link goes to a page that isn’t there.
Don’t sit there shaking your head saying it can’t happen to you, I have seen more sites than you would ever believe that have 404 errors being returned. 404’s are bad as it is a waste of traffic, if people don’t find the page they want and are just taken to a blank page (the usual scenario) they can’t buy anything from you!
Luckily enough there are a couple of plugins available that make this all very easy. One will email you everytime there is a 404 problem on your site and the other allows you to do the redirect.
I have done a short video showing you just how easy they are to use and below the video I have put the links to the 2 plugins I use. I am sure there are others that do the same but these are the two I use.
Remember these two plugins are not mine so I can not offer support for them, I do use both of them though.
I hope you like the video, please do leave comments below so I can know someone other than my mum reads my stuff, Hi Mum!

Would you hope to get around a country without a map? No!
Well search engines and site visitors are no different, they want to see a map on your site so they can get around it. Search engines in particular want to find all the little nooks and crannies that make up your site.
Sitemaps are often ignored or treated as the least important thing on the site and yet Google think they are reasonably important.
So who am I to argue with him?
Because I know that you are going to be wondering how to make the Google gods happy I decided to help you.
You get sitemap plugins to cover both parts of the Google equation all in one package. Take a look at it and if you don’t already have it then look at my Wp Easy Ads plugin as well

Whenever I set up a new site I set up a email address to go with it, paul@ is the usual one I set up. Now I am not expecting to get loads of email from any of these sites but just incase anyone wants to offer me a gazzilion dollars for the site I like to have a way for them to contact me.
When your host has cpanel this is a simple two minute job, of course it is when you know how. If you dont know how then it is sure to be just another thing to drive you nutso.
I did a short video showing you how to do this, hope it helps.
Large Version Of Video
As always if I haven’t made it clear enough or you would like a video done on some other subject let me know.

When you are new online there seems to be something new to learn every single day. Install this, change that, wordpress updates to run. I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about.
One of the things that gets left out in the craziness is something that is quite basic and may seem unimportant. Setting up a webmaster account and installing Google analytics is a little thing. It will take you less than 10 minutes to do, even allowing for the fact that I am talking while doing it it only took me 14 mins. Scroll Down For The Video
If you do not already have a Google webmaster account then please take some time and watch the video below (or click on the link below that to see it in a larger format) and set one up.
While it may not fix all the worldly problems it won’t hurt, there has been discussion about whether it can stop your site being “sandboxed” (if sandboxing exists or not is a whole other discussion).

Sometimes it can be the simplest tools that I love the most!
RSS bot is one of those simple to use tools that just works and the fact is that once I got this tool I actually realized how many rss feeds I have. Now this isn’t the first rss tool I have had, I think I paid $67 for the other one and to be honest I stopped using it as it became a pain in the butt.
You may be reading this and thinking that you don’t have rss feeds to worry use but I am pretty sure you are wrong. If you are building sites and promoting them then you almost certainly do have rss feeds that you could and in fact should be using to drive the search engines into a frenzy.
- Wordpress sites have rss feeds
- ezine articles give you a author feed
- Your twitter account has a rss feed
- Your Squidoo lenses have rss feeds
- Your Hubpages have rss feeds
- The other article sites you use have rss feeds
These are just the places I can think of immediately. Now you can do some passing back and forth with your feeds. You can take your site feed and add it to your squidoo account and take your ezine feed and put that in your hubpages to add some fun and games to the mix.
But the bottom line is that you are probably missing out on some Google love by ignoring your rss feeds, for less than $25 I think that rss bot is a great way to spread your rss love far and wide.
