Its a new year and this is going to be your year, make a plan to build sites/release products/jump on one foot long enough to make a record and make a gazillion dollars..

What a crock!

The chances are that you built a load of sites/released products/jumped on one foot in 2010 and got bored quickly and moved on.

Forget 2011 look at 2010

Before you look at the money to be made in 2011 you should look at the money you didn’t make in 2010

By the way I am not throwing stones as I too live in a greenhouse on this one. In fact I will use myself as an example,I have a spreadsheet and I listed every site I have (including ones I forgot I had) , I then put a month by month listing of income from adsense/amazon/clickbank (I have 3 pages on the sheet, one for adsense, one for amazon, one totals) . This shows me what makes me what money and when.

One thing I saw in the sheet was 2 sites built, same broad niche, same traffic numbers expected , one earned an average of $100 a month the other earned an average of $10. So in 6 months from when I made them to now one earned $647 , one earned $65. That is one heck of a difference isn’t it?

I bought them in the same month so it can’t be just a seasonal thing, I did the same amount of work on them so that can’t be it.. Hang on did I do the same amount of work..

One is showing 100 links one is showing 48  (guess which is which)

One stays at the top of its ranking, one bounces around like a yo yo (go on guess which is which).

See I got bored, they are both in similar niches and both did very well straight out of the gate so I kind of stopped doing anything on the second one, I had problems with writers, there was something on TV, the dog needed a walk , insert your own lame reason for not working as hard as you should of here.

The first one had 30 links in postrunner, the second one 17.

One other thing I noticed is that the one that is doing well has its links spread across 3 words, while the one that has less links has them all on one word.

Before I start on 2011′s master plan to rule the world I need to finish up the stuff I started in 2010, like promoting the site I mention above more.

All the planning in the world won’t help me in 2011, unless I learn to actually finish the things I start.

So get busy clearing up the mess from 2010 before you start thinking of 2011
