Are Your Links Actually Working For You?
Article marketing works, yes I know it works. I use articles as part of my tool kit. But what about when they don’t work?
Let me explain, you produce articles to get links and traffic. What if the article doesn’t get indexed by Google? Then you don’t really get as much value from the article ,the link in it, as you should be. Sure you will still get traffic and I have sites that earn money every month even though they are nowhere near the top 50 for their keywords.
But getting the maximum leverage you can from every article you have out there makes sense doesn’t it?
I had a reasonably in depth conversation with a mate of mine about this idea the other day, which I will try and paraphrase here.
Say you want to get your site 10 extra links isn’t it easier to find 10 articles you have out there which aren’t indexed and get them indexed rather than producing 10 new articles?
Sure if you only have one or two articles out there it’s not a problem but if you have various pen names on ezine articles with 50+ articles in each then it can become a bit more of a pain. Checking the articles for indexing is one of those jobs that you mean to do but you know it will take ages so you never get it done.
It is all about maximizing the value you get from the time you took to write the article or the money you spent for someone else to write it for you.
I felt that this was so important that I was going to get a tool made to go find the non indexed articles and someone beat me to it so rather than reinvent the wheel I thought I would let you know about his tool.
Until I know which ones are indexed there is nothing I can do about it, so step one is finding the unindexed pages!
I do not know the guy who made this tool, I actually spent my own money on this tool and I am using it to improve my business.I do feel it is good enough and important enough that I am promoting it to you. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t recommend things easily.
If you would rather go straight to the page then here is the link. Oh and yes that is an affiliate link! But you can watch a video of it in action here and I throw out a few idea on things to do to fix the problems with your articles.

Buy The Index Checker (yes this is an aff link)
I think I have covered everything in the video but as always please do feel free to post a comment. I hope you find this little tool as useful as I do and use it to help power up those links.
Building more links is great but make sure that they are getting noticed!

Paul, I am totally blown away that articles on major article directories like ezinearticles are not all indexed. ( Secondly why has Chris Knight not sent his Hit Man out to stop you and Andy telling the world!! Hehe)
Have you figured out why?
And you have checked this manually to prove the software is not telling porkies?
As I said…amazing.
PS It looked like ezine was worse than Goarticles…?
Hi Alex
I knew it was a problem, I had started mapping out a plan for software to deal with it. Then I got sidetracked with some other new software I am working on (content stuff).
It is in everyones best interests to get the pages indexed as it not only makes the link more valuable it also earns them more money. I imagine ezine have more trouble getting them all indexed purely because they have so many more pages to get indexed.
If you have a 50 page site you won’t get all the pages indexed instantly, so imagine when you have a site that gets 50 new pages an hour (and i am sure the actual figure is a lot more).
I think Chris is being kept busy trying to come up with new ways to make marketers lives tougher while increasing his companies bottom line.
I like the way this is a simple to use tool, now all i need to find is some way to get the results for author names on other platforms (like UAW) from Yahoo, compare them to google and then try and get the ones that are in yahoo but not in Google listed.

Thanks for this nifty tool Paul. I’ve actually held off purchasing anything for some time now as I’m broke, but this one can be my Christmas present to myself. I’ll also be checking out the crawlrate plugin.
I agree with Alex’s comment about Ezine Articles. I blindly assumed because they were so big they were being crawled every hour.
I have many of Incansoft’s ‘Bot’ tools as I love the power yet simplicity of them. I can see I’ll have to step up a notch in 2010 to make better use of them.

Hi Paul, thank you so much for introducing this cool software. I have no problem purchasing this product using your affiliate link.
Hey, let me know if you manage to find a way to obtain our articles link using UAW. I really want to know how to do this.
Kathy
I am sure they get spidered constantly but Google don’t index all they spider. This may be part of the reason Chris Knight has decided to stop people constantly changing their resource boxes. The article is no longer there when Google come to spider it, so they wont index it.
Tools are only good if you use them and use them consistently and effectively (which is always the problem most of us have).

Thanks for the purchase, if I do manage to find a way to parse the results I will let you know. A new year project now I think as I am working on some new plugins and a desktop bit of software which I use to help me write content.
Paul
Hi Paul,
I bought this tool several days back, but never got round to using it,
until I saw your impressive video results. I plugged in my author’s
rss feed and discovered that approx 40% of my ezinearticles had
not been indexed – which was an eye opener.
Thanks for the link to the rss creator for multiple url’s.
I have just used this service and sent rssbot to work!
Thanks once again!
No Problem Robert
I am going to do more of a video on what to do to get the pages that aren’t indexed into Google at some point as there are some interesting ideas.
Don’t forget you can link from your old lenses and own sites!

Great link building and indexing tidbits contained here. Thanks Paul

I am the newest of the newbies and SEO is a full time job. One day I would like to see earnings climb and climb again and I’ve learned that reading up and getting input from forums, asking questions, and using the “tools” that are available should be utilized to the utmost. The information that I’ve gathered on backlinks, SEO, HTML, Crawling, SiteMaps etc., are making my comprehension of online marketing much more clearer. There is so much information out there and I’ve decided to gather as much as possible. Thank you guys for taking the time to read my comment.
