It only had 30 or so photos in it but all of them had been uploaded at the same size as they came off their camera. It works as she only has one site and I am not worried about the space she uses, but what if you have 10 or 20 sites all like that.

Pretty soon your hosting is full of huge images that don’t need to be that way. It is a waste of hosting space, a waste of processing power and generally not a good use of resources. Resizing images is easy to do and you can use an online website for free.

Resizing your images may seem like a small thing but it really is something that can help. Renaming your images to something more search engine friendly is one of the best benefits.

What Are You Doing To Get Your Share Of The $$

I know that thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas seem to be months away but that is good news as it means you have time to buy the domains, promote them and get some rankings before anyone else thinks on it.

Use The Domain Concierge - Tell her you want to get a domain related to the holiday of your choice, this is a good way of getting outside the normal zone

Halloween WordPress Themes -There are a great selection of themes available for Halloween and I think if you get on her list she may do some for other holidays.

You could buy the domain and install the wordpress themes, get the site indexed and then sell it on Flippa come 1st September. That seems to be the date when everyone suddenly realizes that Summer is gone and it will soon be Christmas. Your sites will already be indexed and you may even have made a buck or two but they will be prime for selling.

Buy two domains, build sites, keep one for yourself sell the other one. You could already be in profit before Halloween comes round.

If you put amazon products on the site then don’t forget to use http://easyspinintro.com/wpg.html to add keyword rich relevant content on the pages.

We know when Halloween is going to be, we know when christmas is going to be so there is no excuse for not being ready.

I know of one company that actually spend all year preparing for Christmas, that is all his site deals with, he earns a years income in one month. While I am not saying you should do that I do think everyone should have some holiday centric sites in their portfolio.

To be honest at first I ignored all the noise but it is getting crazy. Does anyone really expect them to change back just so you or me can make a few more bucks?

I started off with the idea for a short video and ended up with a not so short one. I talk about content and links and probably everything inbetween. I didn’t do any kind of run through so if there are gaps it may be my mouth trying to catch up with my brain, or vice versa.

The truth is that in many ways it is just that easy, but in some ways it is a lot harder than that. One of the problems that I see on my travels through the Internet (I do a fair number of 1 on 1 coaching sessions with people) is that people tend to have all their sites around similar niches.

So if you know about or have an interest in repairing cars for example your sites may well be car centric, maybe some power tool sites but nothing much different. This can give you problems as all your sites would tend to be aimed at the same demographics.

You need to get some niche diversity in your portfolio, this is easier said than done since we tend to build sites around what we know.. So why not let someone else spark your brain

Niche A Day by Scott Standke is a nice way to get a daily dose of niche inspiration. Rather than getting a gazillion niches all at once (which i find to just be so much info I can’t handle it) you get one a day.

If you aren’t building a site today that’s cool, save the emails and then get them out when you are building. What I do is have a folder just for the emails, I also have a folder on my desktop where I save any info I come across that may relate to any of the niches I have seen in the emails.

http://nicheaday.com/ is a great way to start looking at niches that are profitable and outside your normal sphere of research. You always hear people saying to think outside the box, it is a lot easier when someone else does some of it for you..lol

The problem is that saving time while doing a half assed job is pointless.

Article marketing is one of the areas where this happens a lot, blog commenting is another one, squidoo and hubpages are another two.

Hubpages can be a powerful site to work with, if you take some time to create a useful hub you can get traffic for ever and a day as well as a decent backlink.  Hubpages is incredibly easy to use , just add in some unique content, then a video, or maybe a photo. Then some more text, a amazon section and another pic or three.

At the worst way this should take you no more than 30 mins.

• 30 mins for a decent link and traffic (I still get traffic from hubs that are a couple of years plus old).
• Your other option is to throw in some heavily spun gibberish and a link..

Go for the second one and there is a good chance that hubpages will can your hub, why? Coz it is junk!

I love to save time but think about whether it is the right time to save it. When they can your hub that took you 6 minutes to make you bitch and moan, but if you had spent the extra time you could have got something of long term use in your business.

Hub plan
This is a rough one but I think you will get the idea, this is by no means a details blueprint, it is more of a Paul is sitting here thinking and typing kind of print!

Prep Work

• If your site is about weddings, then set up a group in your hub account called “weddings”.
• Set up a folder on your desktop called Wedding Hubs – put photos in this and a txt document with urls of videos
• Original content, or seed articles can be put here

Work it!

Do your first hub on Monday about ‘weddings” , DO NOTHING ELSE TO IT apart from the setting up.

Wednesday – do one about wedding dresses – DO NOTHING TO IT – bookmark hub 1, go back into it and add a sentence or two, maybe a pic

Friday – Do a hub about bridesmaids -DO NOTHING TO IT – go and add something to number 2 (and more to number 1 if you wish) and bookmark number 2

I think you see the path, give them a couple of days to settle down then bookmark, rss feed submissions, ping etc

Even if your site is only aimed at “Weddings” you can still build hubs around feeder words. It is always a good to have your site getting links for a variety of terms.

Please fill in your profile, doesn’t matter if it is your real info or not as long as you put something that looks real. Use the same pen name that you use in ezine if you are sticking with that niche.

Links
Just one per hub and if you are doing 3 hubs vary the anchor text.

Hubpages is a valuable platform, it just isn’t worth abusing it by throwing up rubbish.

In fact it is important not to flit from place to place, the best idea is to find something that works and stick with it.

The problem with this is that it means you never find anywhere new, the sites you are using may be slipping in their effectiveness and you may need to do more work to get the same effect. This has happened all too often, the Internet really never does stand still.

So what can you do?

I was very excited when I found this site, I won’t pretend I discovered it all alone, Ed from RSS Rebound mentioned it on one of his blog posts and I went to look. You really should look at the RSS Rebound tool and also start following eds blog as he is a very smart cookie.

I was going to say smarter than me, but that isn’t saying much most days lately!

Anyway as I say in the video above my logic works around how if Google are indexing posts on sites super quickly they must be sending the spiders there a lot and if they are doing that they must consider it to be an important site.

Ok so my logic may be fuzzy but I am trying to prove there is method in my madness!

So if you are only going to bookmark your page to 10 sites manually you may as well do the 10 that get the most love from the Big G!
