Today I am running a test using Pinerly and Pinterest

I picked a couple of quotes from well known people and had a designer do some simple slides which include the quote and a relevant photo.

The first slide is a quote from Sir Richard Branson – I figured he was a well known name. I have made it the board cover and I used pinerly to post the image.

If you go to that board and look at the 1st image (the one with buses), http://pinterest.com/pin/111745634474567876/

I do have some things I would like to test at some point

-Would it be better if the pic was of the person who’s quote I am using? I wonder because people like Richard Branson have huge face recognition so would people slow down and look more because of him?

-Do we even need an image in the background? Is the quote itself eye catching enough that it would draw attention

-Will using pinerly affect it negatively? I like that I can get some stats by using the service but do those stats have a cost? There is no charge for using the service so the cost I mean is in reduced sharing through negative connotations with a posting service.

I know that 1 image on one board is not really a indepth test but I thought I would share what I am doing and I welcome any suggestions and input. The industry we are promoting is not exactly image friendly, I do not think pics of us having meetings is as visually enticing as food or clothing so maybe quotes and business tips is the way to go.

Feel free to go and look at the board, follow us and share away if you are in Pinterest, I will post updates on this thread with results (assuming I see any).

Please do comment with your ideas for images, what level of promo you do for your pins and anything else that comes to mind.
