Ok day 3 has not gone as planned!

My writer seems to have decided that when he says 24 hours he means those special ones which are two-three times as long as normal hours. I am waiting for 5 pages of web content for the next 5 websites.

So today isn’t a total bust I have ordered headers for the product sites, I dont use headers on all my sites. Especially adsense ones, I have tried various looks for adsense sites and usually ones without headers do better, not always but usually.

What I will do is test, if I get a header made I will try it for a month and then do a month without it and see which layout works best. Funnily enough it isn’t a sure thing, some niches do better with headers some do better without and once in a while I get a niche where even if I had naked dancing girls on the page they wouldn’t click.

I have also loaded the rss feeds from the first 5 adsense sites into rssbot which I have always liked but having just downloaded the latest version I like it even more now than ever.I especially like the fact that it has a feed generator built in, while it may not be majorly useful for those of us using WordPress I can see its uses.

This is just as a way to get the sites indexed, I will also

  • Add them to my Google rss reader
  • Bookmark them on Folkd

One other thing I sometimes do when I have a number of small sites is create one rss feed from just the home pages (I use hostmyrss for this) and then use that with the indexing plugin on one of my sites which gets spidered a lot and that ensures quick indexing. If the sites only have one main page of content then it doesnt take much to get them indexed. But I thought I would share a few diff ways, rssbot costs but is very good for rss feed submission but the other ways are free so take your pick.

I know people are really only interested in the promotion side of this, and I will get there but I do want to at least cover some of the sitebuilding as not everyone will be at the same stage. I am disappointed with my writer as he hammered out the first 5 articles so quickly and I was very gung ho to get these next 5 sites done.

Thursday and Friday I am planning to finish the 10 wordpress site installs, and get them all at least alive and working.
